“Three foot Rule” It is simple — If you are driving, you give a bicycle 3 feet clearance front, back and to the side.
Treat a bike as a vehicle. Stay behind it until there is room to pass and clear it by 3 feet.
The state of Florida has yellow signs posted on all roads showing a bike and a car with a 3′ line between them.
Three feet is easy to visualize — it is a yard stick…..and for the younger drivers — it is a metre stick.
Public education isn’t working. It is time for the Ontario government to legislate it.
Bicycle riding is “Green”, but in this City, with the crumbling roads, and drivers who try to push you to the curb, it is bloody.
I’m so glad there are rational people who view this tragedy as a way to improve on our roads and possibly the training these teenagers receive. Everyone wishes the cyclist well and say heartfelt prayers but there is never just one victim in these circumstances.
I’m not certain where you are getting your info, but great topic. I must spend some time studying much more or understanding more. Thanks for fantastic info I was looking for this information for my mission.
