About

Our Team

J.D. Booth, Publisher/Editor, has more than three decades' experience in journalism and communications. Booth moved to the Sarnia area in 1985 and has worked in industry and media. He was the founding editor and principal writer for a business oriented magazine between 2002 and 2006.

Joe Burd, Writer/Reporter, is a freelance journalist currently who has a reputation for being multifaceted, as is demonstrated by his range of work. Most people that have read his work would agree that Joe's niche is not having a niche. Although he thrives on diversity, when pushed, Joe will admit a disposition for politics, current events, science and technology, and what many might consider 'fringe' subjects. Joe joins the Lambton Shield team with the express intent of helping make it Sarnia-Lambton's first and premier choice for local and regional news. He wants nothing less than to make a positive difference and, more importantly, a unique and bold contribution to the community through his work with LambtonShield.com.

Bob McCarthy is a noted historian and educator in the Sarnia-Lambton area. His innovative "Voices from Lambton's Past" series continues to entertain and inform our visitors about the rich history of Lambton County. He is a valued member, not only of our community, but the LambtonShield.com team.

Michele Dionne is the founder of SarniaRocks.com and a contributor to LambtonShield.com, notably in the field of entertainment. She is instrumental in keeping our visitors informed about what's going on in our area.

CCI Studios Inc. is a web development and marketing company, based in Sarnia. CCI handles all advertising, web-related technical aspects and administrative work associated with LambtonShield.com.

YOU? LambtonShield.com also has various contributors and we are always looking for new ones to fulfill our mission of telling the stories of our community. If you'd like to be part of our team, please contact J.D. Booth at (519) 466-2811.

Our Story While Lambton Shield has "history" behind the name (it began as a weekly newspaper in 1852, edited by Alexander Mackenzie, who would become Canada's second prime minister), today's LambtonShield.com is modern in every respect. First of all, we're online only. Being electronic gives us the immediacy, flexibility and economics to put our resources into local news gathering, providing information that is going to be of enduring interest to the communities we serve–Lambton County and Sarnia. By appealing to readers, we'll appeal to advertisers, who will want to forge relationships with their customers. In short, the more time readers spend with us, the better it will be for advertisers. LambtonShield.com promises to be an honest broker of news and information for our readers, a respected source. Advertisers can count on us to provide a unique platform for communicating their messages to their prospects and customers. We hope you'll find (as a reader and possibly an advertiser) LambtonShield.com to be a place you'll visit often. If we can be of help in any way, don't hesitate to contact us: J.D.
