The Alvinston Indians returned home Thursday night for a double header against the Glanworth Gators.

In game #1, the Indians ended the game in five innings, as a series of errors helped the Indians to a 7-0 shutout win.  Scoring for the Indians were Chris Sheppard (2), Ryan Chapman, Eric Hyatt, Jeff Lyons, Joe Triest, and Jamie Shields.  Driving in the runs were Chapman (2), Aaron Stocking, Hyatt, Lyons, Andy Triest, and J. Triest.  Brad Young earned the shutout win for the Indians, scattering four hits over 5 innings of work, while striking out 6.

In game #2, the Glanworth Gators struck first, taking a 1-0 lead, when Indians stater Kyle Crawford struggled out of the games.  But Crawford settled down, and was top notch for the remainder of the game, and the Indians fought back to support their young arm.  Andy Triest walked to lead off the third, and scored on an RBI double by Brad Young into the gap.  Then Jamie Shields scored the go ahead run in the third inning, when he scored on an RBI single by Chris Sheppard.  Alvinston then added one more run in the sixth, when Indians first baseman Jeff Ingram was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a Tom Jobson single, and then pinch runner Pat Sanders scored the third run for Alvinston, on a Joe Triest RBI single.  The final score was 3-1 for Alvinston, as they earned both wins in the double header.  Crawford was dominant in the win for Alvinston, allowing one earned run in seven innings, and only two hits, while walking two, and fanning 13 Glanworth swingers.

The Indians are now 13-3 on the season in league play, and are at home on Sunday afternoon versus Springfield, for a 2pm start.
