Arrest made in recent robbery, suspect faces two charges
Crime, Sarnia — By Joe Burd on February 3, 2012 at 2:55 pmSarnia Police have arrested Lewis Giuseppe Rising, 21, of no fixed address, for a robbery that occurred at a variety store in the 400 block of Exmouth on Jan. 21.
The accused allegedly entered the store shortly after 4 a.m., armed with a knife, and robbed a 61 year old female clerk of a sum of money. Rising was wearing a scarf over his face and a hood up over his head.
He fled the store, but the whole incident was caught on store video.
Sarnia police arrested him on Feb. 2 just after the noon hour in the area of Mitton and Wellington Streets in Sarnia.
Rising will face a charge of Robbery with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous to the Public Peace.
He remains in custody and will make his next court appearance on Feb.8 at 10 a.m. for a bail hearing.
