Artist creates ‘dovely’ painting at Easter Service

When local artist Natalie Rude began a painting at the Sunday morning Easter Service at Lighthouse Community Church, she was doing what she does best—offering God her best in a unique form of worship.

The resulting painting, which was basically complete by the time Lead Pastor Glenn Peterson had wrapped up the service, is pictured with Natalie.

But that's not where the story ends.

A week later, Natalie, who is married to Josh Rude, the pastor of student ministries at Lighthouse, was putting the finishing touches on the piece—which she calls "You Are Saviour."

"I flipped the painting over and saw what I didn't consciously paint during the service—a dove," said Natalie.

A little "fine tuning" resulted in another element incorporated into the dove that is now a prominent (and obvious once the painting was "turned over") feature—a lamb's face.
