Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey announced on Apr. 13 a special event that will be held at the Lambton Inn on Friday, Jun. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event “Attacking Unemployment: Resources, Training & Opportunities” has been organized to raise awareness of community resources, employment training, and job opportunities that are currently available in Sarnia-Lambton for the unemployed or underemployed.
“Sarnia-Lambton’s labour force has been hit hard by the recent announcements of businesses closing up shop and the provincial government moving jobs out of our community,” said MPP Bailey. “But, our community has a strong pool of talented and hardworking individuals that if given the opportunity would thrive in a new situation; the Attacking Unemployment: Resources, Training & Opportunities event is designed to help those people address their situation and then take the necessary steps to develop new careers right here in Sarnia-Lambton,” added MPP Bailey.
Working with MPP Bailey to host this event are a wide variety of businesses, community organizations and services including: The Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce; Express Personnel; The Workplace; Lambton College; Goodwill Industries; Financial Fitness; Inn of the Good Shepherd; The Salvation Army; Lambton County Social Services; local business and many more.
Registration is required for this event. Any business or individuals interested in taking part should contact MPP Bob Bailey’s Office by phone at: (519) 337-0051, or by email at bob.baileyco@pc.ola.org
