Bluewater Health adds interim chief of professional staff to Dr. Mark Taylor’s duties

Bluewater Health today announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Taylor as Interim Chief of Professional Staff. The appointment is from January to September 2012 and the position reports to the Board of Directors.

Additionally, Dr. Taylor will continue in his current role as Vice President Medical Affairs, Chief Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Management. In this role he continues to report to Sue Denomy, President and CEO.

Dr. Taylor has an extensive clinical, administrative and academic background spanning more than 30 years. In addition to his Doctor of Medicine Degree, he holds Masters Degrees in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Management. He has previously held associate professorships at four universities and served as a Major in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The appointment followed Bluewater Health’s search and selection process prescribed by its Bylaws, and involved a panel of Board members and medical and administrative leaders.

Dr. Taylor fills the position left vacant at the conclusion of Dr. Michel Haddad’s term as Interim Chief of Professional Staff. Dr. Haddad continues in his role as Medical Director, Critical Care. Dr. Haddad will begin to transition projects to Dr. Taylor in the coming days with a full transition of the role expected by month end.
