Bluewater Health previews new MRI facility
Feature, Sarnia — By JD Booth on May 4, 2012 at 5:42 pmPotential contributors and those who will not only benefit from but work on a new Siemens MRI machine at Bluewater Health got their chance on Friday.
The $2.8 million machine will allow health care professionals to complete a wide range of medical imaging, including breast imaging that patients had to travel out of Sarnia to treat.
In fact, once the new machine is up and running by the end of May, all imaging will be able to be accomplished at the Sarnia site, all in a more convenient, safe and faster way than was previously thought possible with the current machine, which is three years beyond its life expectancy.
A $300,000 donation from the Sarnia Construction Association has become the "lead" amount donated to the fund raising effort, organized by the Bluewater Health Foundation.
Here, Kathy Alexander, who heads the Bluewater Health Foundation office, explains to COECO TV6 "Wright to the Point" host Barry Wright what the difference will mean to patients of Bluewater Health.
