Brent, Matilda Mary ‘Tillie’ (Oct. 14, 2011)

Surrounded by her family, on Friday October 14, 2011 at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Sarnia, at the age of 89. Tillie was the beloved wife of the late James (1985). Devoted mother of Jim and Mary, and George and Ann. Cherished grandma of Karen (Mark) Mann, Jason (Kelly) Brent, Doug Brent, and Jamie (Tyler) Spain. Overjoyed great-grandma of Jacob and Hailee Brent. Survived by her sister Dorothy (Jack) Gallaway and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Tom, Ada, Herb, Jack and Bill. Tillie was very involved with St John Ambulance and received special recognition for her contributions. She was especially proud of her work as the dental assistant of Dr. Helene Shingles and was a member of the Eastern Star. Visitation will be at Sarnia Evangelical Missionary Church (707 Talfourd Street at East Street) on Monday October 17 at 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tillie’s memory, to either Empower Ministries or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be gratefully appreciated.
