Second-term trustee Carol Bryden has been acclaimed as the new chair of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.
She served as vice-chair last term.
In her inaugural address at the board meeting on Tuesday night in Wallaceburg. Bryden praised the board of trustees and senior administration of the board.
"Our board has demonstrated that we can and do provide excellent Catholic education for our students. Our EQAO scores continue to be well above the province," she said.
"But our mission is even greater than academic excellence. As a Catholic school board, we help our students to become faith-filled, moral and just leaders in our parishes, communities and in our country," Bryden added.
The new chair represents regions in both Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton, including Dawn-Euphemia and St. Clair Township.
Meantime, Chatham's Anita Labadie, the immediate past chair, was chosen as vice-chair for the coming term which expires at the end of November 2011.
