Cardiac arrest victim stops by city to thank local heroes

Frank Dinunzio and his wife Margaret, residents of Windsor who were staying with friends at a Holiday Inn in Cambridge last Nov. 22, stopped by Sarnia Police Services headquarters this week to thank the people who saved Frank's life.

Sgt. Paul Marnak and Tracey Moore (a Registered Nurse) were in the room when Dinunzio collapsed. Moore immediately asked someone to call 911 and began performing CPR, sharing the duties with Marnak until paramedics arrived on the scene.

Doctors at Cambridge Memorial Hospital say it is unlikely Dinunzio, who works as a bus mechanic,  would have survived the incident, let alone with no ill effects a year later.

The Sarnia Police Services board presented Marnak and Moore with citations recognizing their service at its Thursday, Nov. 18 meeting.
