Local welfare trend continues to climb
The welfare rolls in Sarnia-Lambton continue to rise. The latest statistics indicate 2,775 people were on Ontario Works in March. That's an 8.2 per cent increase since the beginning of the 2011 It's also an increase of more than one thousand cases or 64 per cent in the past five years.
