Obituaries — By JD Booth on September 1, 2012 at 5:55 pmCHAMBERS, James Gordon – July 4, 1942-August 29, 2012 – With his loving wife by his side, after a brief illness, Jim passed away peacefully at the age of 70. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Hanne. Proud and loving father of Elise and Lore (the late Rodney Ross); and loving grandfather to his dearest granddaughters Jaime and Skyelar. Cherished and loved son of Hazel and Bill Roed. Predeceased by father Ray Chambers and grandparents Ethel May & Jim Simons and Florence & Gordon Chambers. Loved son-in-law of Erich and Friedhilde Zilliges (also predeceased). Much loved brother of Sharron Flannery (the late Pat) and John Chambers (Francine) and families. Dear brother-in-law to Rosie DeMars and Bernie Zilliges (Lori) and their families. Jim will be remembered fondly by our extended family, friends and work acquaintances. Special love from Jake and Sheba. Jim spent 32 years at Dow Chemical, Sarnia and about 17 years at H&R Block. He loved playing baseball, hockey and bowled in his younger years, and was an avid arm chair coach in recent years. We love you. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Tuesday, September 4th from 2-4 p.m. A Celebration of Jim’s life will follow in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel at 4 p.m. with The Rev. Steve Harnadek officiating.
