Corunna detachment of OPP, volunteers to gather canned goods for needy in St. Clair Township

OPP officers, as well as local business people and volunteers with the Corunna Community Policing Committee will be on hand in the parking lot of the Corunna OPP this Saturday (Dec. 11)  to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items and gifts for the less fortunate in Corunna.

The campaign, dubbed "Operation Christmas Tree," will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drivers and families that want  to assist in this initiative are asked to bring their donations to 392 Lyndoch Street, Corunna.

"Santa will be in attendance, handing out candies, gift bags and coupons from local businesses to each participant," said Constable John Reurink of the OPP. "Officers know this is the time for thinking of the less fortunate and 'Operation Christmas Tree" serves as an excellent opportunity to give back to the community they serve."
