Council in Enniskillen to decide next month how to replace outgoing mayor

Township council in Enniskillen will consider two options to replace outgoing Mayor Jim Burns when it meets in early October.

“Once they declare the (mayor's) seat vacant, they have 60 days to either appoint someone or pass a by-law to call a byelection,” said Township Administrator-Clerk Duncan McTavish.
Burns has accepted a position of Chief Administrative Officer with the Village of Point Edward and will step down as Enniskillen Mayor on September 30.
