County warden says premier called to offer post-storm thanks

Lambton County Warden Steve Arnold has told County Councillors that he spoke with Premier Dalton McGuinty following the disaster, who thanked officials for their handling of the recent snow emergency.

During the brief conversation, Arnold says he urged the premier to take proactive action, including the installation of wind-deflecting barriers along roadways that would help prevent the kind of drifting that occurred, stranding hundreds of motorists as the storm progressed.

Arnold said he also asked that electronic information signs be installed east of Modeland Road.
