Obituaries — By JD Booth on July 8, 2012 at 5:55 pmDEMARCO, Michael – It is with saddened hearts that after a long courageous battle with cancer, we had to say goodbye to our loving husband, father, and papa, Michael Joseph DeMarco on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Bluewater Health at the age of 66. Michael was a dedicated employee at Romatec for 43 years, a member at the Camlachie Golf Club, where he will be greatly missed. He was an avid sports fan, especially during the NHL season when he was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he was a sports statistician, but most of all he loved spending time with his family who were his pride and joy. Michael was the beloved husband of Sharon DeMarco. Loving father to Michelle (Matthew Ridley) DeMarco, Melissa (Mark) McClelland and Joleen (Blair) DeMarco-Wettlaufer. Cherished Papa to Alicia (Devin) Cresswell, Cynthia DeMarco, Erica McClelland, Abigail McClelland, Alexander Wettlaufer and Katie Wettlaufer. Dear brother to Nancy (the late Donald) Thomas, Bill (the late Theresa) DeMarco, Patricia (the late Dennis) Sedgbeer, Della (Charles) McGillion, Sally (Havelin) Toms, Terry (Bev) DeMarco and Robert (Mary) DeMarco. Predeceased by his parents William and Simone DeMarco, his mother-in-law June Clement and his brothers-in-law Harry Clement and Richard Clement. Survived by brothers and sisters- in-law Frank (Joan) Clement, Patty Clement, Gus (Leanne) Clement, Carol (Gerry) Taylor, Terri (Jim) Richmond and Jacquelyne (Gino) Strisovich. Dear best friend to George (Celia) Fitzjohn. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Dostaler, for the care and compassion she showed Michael during his battle with cancer. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 1920 Wildwood Dr., Bright's Grove at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
