ENGLISH, Douglas Randall – (1928-2012) – Doug died peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's, which he faced with grace and fortitude. Doug lived each day with zest, neither regretting the past nor fearing the future. He lived his life according to The Scouting Motto “Do Your Best.“ His love of competition came to the fore in swim events, on the basketball court, on the golf course and at the bridge table. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Alison, his daughters Betty and Susan, his son Bruce and wife Beverly White; granddaughter Alice as well as in-laws Marion Lambert, Kit English, Alan Laing and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at Noon, Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club (Ambassador Room), 500 Errol Rd. W., Sarnia.
