A driver who is alleged to have been driving without a seat belt and who had fallen asleep faces charges of Careless Driving, Fail to Wear Seatbelt and Driving Under Suspension after he collided with a garbage truck on Churchill Line around 3:45 p.m. yesterday (Nov. 24).

OPP say 30-year-old Mark Duffy of Watford sustained non-life-threatening injuries when he hit the side of the garbage truck, the driver having attempted to avoid the collision by going onto the north shoulder of the road.

Duffy, police say, was driving a sub-compact Chevrolet.
