General x-rays won’t need appointments at CEE in Petrolia after Dec. 1

Lambton County — By on November 29, 2011 at 6:15 pm

Beginning December 1, 2011, pre-scheduled appointments will no longer be required for general x-rays at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (CEEH) of Bluewater Health.

“Area residents with a requisition from their primary care provider for a general x-ray, can choose to walk-in at CEEH of Bluewater Health without a scheduled appointment,” said Dr. Rishi Duggal, Medical Director, Diagnostic Imaging. “This provides our patients with more flexibility, and lessens scheduling time spent by patients and physician offices.”

Diagnostic Imaging at CEEH of Bluewater Health will welcome walk-ins from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Patients are required to bring their requisition with them to the hospital and register upon arrival in Patient Registration. Diagnostic Imaging at CEEH of Bluewater Health is located on 1st Floor beside the Emergency Department.

When urgent x-rays (i.e. those required by Emergency Department patients) must take precedence over routine x-rays, Diagnostic Imaging staff can communicate the anticipated wait so that the patient can choose to stay or return at another time.

Diagnostic Imaging staff at CEEH of Bluewater Health does approximately 40 general x-rays daily.

Dr. Duggal said, “This change is part of our continuing efforts to improve diagnostic imaging services for our community.”

CEEH of Bluewater Health continues to require pre-scheduled appointments for ultrasound examinations.
