Hurricane Sandy wreaks havoc across Sarnia
Feature, Sarnia — By alison grant on October 30, 2012 at 5:13 pmMany were expecting it, but sadly Sarnia citizens were not quite prepared for the effects that Hurricane Sandy had on the city last night (October 29).
Hurricane Sandy is the largest Atlantic hurricane in diameter on record and certainly the one to have the most effect on southern Ontario.
All over the city power outages were reported with a main power line failing on Murphy Road.
There have also been reports of a water main on Borden that broke.
Trees were uprooted, fences were shredded apart, siding from houses torn off and any loose objects that happened to be sitting outside have been carried away.
There is a lot of damage control to do here and all over the Eastern coast so hopefully Sandy is done with her path of destruction.
