Former Lambton County Warden Jim Burns begins a new job today. (Monday, September 26)
Earlier this month, Burns accepted a position as Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Point Edward.
As a condition of his employment, Burns will step down as Mayor of Enniskillen Township at the end of this week.
Point Edward Mayor Dick Kirkland is looking forward to working with Burns, who has a Political Science degree from the University of Windsor. Kirkland says Burns will bring new ideas and initiatives to the job, while at the same time maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Township council will meet next Tuesday, October 4, to decide how to replace him.
