Lambton College convocation set for this Saturday

Final details are being ironed out as organizers finalize planning for the 45th annual Lambton College convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the RBC Centre in Sarnia, Ontario at 2:00 p.m.
Three awards will be given at this year’s Convocation with different programs represented:
The Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal will be awarded to Stephanie Michelle VanderMeulen, a graduate of the Esthetician program. The Governor General’s Award is given to the student who achieves the highest academic standing in a diploma-level, post-secondary program. VanderMeulen has also achieved the Dean’s Award and is named on the Program Dean’s Honour List.
Shannon Lee Bell, a graduating student in the Collaborative Bachelor of Education, Early Childhood Education program, will be awarded the Board of Governors’ Award. This award is granted annually at convocation to a graduating student from a post-secondary program who has combined – to the greatest extent possible – academic achievement with a significant contribution to college life or the community. Bell has also achieved the Dean’s Award and is named on the Program Dean’s Honour List.
The Alumni Association Leadership Award is awarded to a graduate who has made a significant, notable and meritorious contribution to Lambton College. The student is also honoured for consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedicated service to the College while contributing greatly to student life. This year’s recipient is Matthew Jonathan Boersma, who is a graduate of the Business Administration – Marketing program. Boersma has also achieved the Dean’s Award and is named on the Program Dean’s Honour List.
