Nursing Graduate Guarantee rep will present benefits to Lambton College nursing students
Sarnia — By JD Booth on March 8, 2011 at 12:50 pmRepresentatives from the Ontario government's Nursing Graduate Guarantee program, which provides graduates with up to six months of full-time, paid employment, are visiting Lambton College tomorrow (Wed., March 9) to encourage nursing students to participate.
The program is geared to keeping nursing graduates in Ontario rather than seeking employment elsewhere, according to a media release.
More than 600 nursing graduates from southwestern Ontario have already taken advantage of the program.
The initiative, which is part of the province's health human resources strategy, includes on-the-job mentorship, has been in existence since 2007. More than 50% of all 2009 nursing graduates took part in the program.
New graduates interested in the Nursing Graduate Guarantee initiative must register at an online employment portal.
The Lambton College visit is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in room L208.
