LEAMINGTON – Two days after playing their best game of the season, the Sarnia Legionnaires put in their worst performance of the campaign here Saturday night.
Coach Dan Rose's Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League club dropped a 7-0 decision to the hometown Leamington Flyers.
Just 48 hours earlier, the Sarnians had upset the first place London Nationals 5-4.
With the victory Leamington moved into a tie for sixth place with Sarnia in the league's highly competitive western conference.
Sarnia is now at the .500 mark again, with an 18-18-3 record.
The Flyers outshot the Legionnaires 55-16.
Kyle Washer took the loss in net, dropping his record to 15-6-1. In all, he stopped 36 of 41 shots he faced.
Sean Parker, who came on in relief at the start of the third period, turned aside 12 of 14 pucks fired his way.
There was one fight, featuring Jeff Schroeter of the Legionnaires and Ron Soucie, who was demoted by the OHL Sarnia Sting earlier this month.
