Three men face drug charges following a seizure of almost 1 ½ pounds of suspected marihuana after public complaints to police of about trash being tossed out of a vehicle.
Lambton OPP said last weekend, Jun. 23, at around 12:45 p.m., a motorist called dispatch to report that occupants of 2005 Chevrolet were throwing empty cans out on to highway as they travelled along Dashwood Road.
Police soon located the suspected vehicle as it was heading in to Grand Bend and signaled to pull it over. The officer allegedly detected the recent use of suspected marihuana and the three male occupants were arrested.
A search was conducted of the occupants and the vehicle following the arrest.
Marihuana was found during the search, police said, and bagged in individual bags. The total amount was almost 1 ½ pounds. Police also seized empty Ziploc bags and assorted paraphernalia used in the packaging and sale of illicit drugs.
The estimated street value is set at approximately $2,500.
Two Stratford men, both 22, and one Tavistock man, 21, each face a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
