Things are looking up for the local tourism industry according to the local tourism authority.
Tourism Sarnia-Lambton has indicated local operators are seeing “last minute pickups” as the busy local tourism season picks up steam.
General Manager Marlene Wood was quoted saying, “Hotel operators had been discouraged initially but the mood changes toward the end of the month.”
Wood added that more Ontarians are making the trek to Sarnia-Lambton, particularly from parts of the GTA, is encouraging.
“It’s nice to know our neighbouring area is discovering what we have to offer.”
