Lock it or lose it, Sarnia Police say after a rash of break and enters over the last two weeks

The Sarnia Police Service is encouraging people to lock their homes as a result of a rash of break and enters in the Indian Road area over the past two weeks.

The heists took place on Bennett Street, Montcalm Avenue, Kathleen Avenue and Assiniboine Crescent and in every case, said police, the suspects entered through an unlocked door and stole purses that were left in full view.

Authorities suggest putting everyday items, such as purses and wallets, in areas that cannot be seen from outside the residence.

Police advise residents to lock up whether you are home or not as in several incidents the victims were home at the time of the break and enter.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to contact city detectives or Crime Stoppers.
