Lots to see and do at the Brigden Fair, 2011 edition
Feature, St. Clair — By jd on October 8, 2011 at 10:51 pmIt's about carnival rides, candy corn, fries and so much more, thanks to the people at the Moore Agricultural Society.
Yes, it's Brigden Fair time and thousands of people will find that out first hand. Just ask Megan Vandendool, Ambassador, currently in her first year of study at the Ridgetown campus of the University of Guelph:
We could start with the food. That's what Zander Durrill and his older brother Zackery (pictured) were enjoying when we stopped by the funnel cake stand. Looking for something just as sweet? David Ghobril of the Ice Creamery has just the ticket for Brigden Fair visitors:
If you were at the Fair on Saturday, you might have caught the Black Family entertaining under the tent near the entrance. LambtonShield.com was able to capture one of their numbers, but here's a hint: the Blacks will be appearing at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Petrolia on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011.
Music was also on the mind of Doug Kennedy, owner of Jack Kennedy Music in Sarnia, who had an exhibit at the Fair.
If libraries, museums and galleries is more your cup of tea, there's lots of information at the Fair about what's going on in that regard.
Outdoor entertainment is running right through the entire weekend, with the West Coast Lumberjack Shows presenting their brand of fun at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on both Sunday and Monday. Here's a little of what you can expect at the show:
Finally, how about a bird's eye view of the Brigden Fair and surrounding area? Thanks to the good folks at the Central Helicopter Training Academy, a division of Zimmer Air Services, LambtonShield.com is able to provide this breathtaking "round the Fair" trip.
The moral of the story? Have a great time at one (or both) of the days left–Sunday, Oct. 9 and Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 10–at the 2011 Brigden Fair.
