Man accused of drunk driving hits tree

Sarnia Police say an 18-year old Sarnia man faces one charge of driving over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood after colliding with a vehicle on westbound Cathcart early Thursday morning.

The incident, police say, caused the accused and his Chevrolet to end up on the grass area and come to rest against a tree in front of a home in the 800 block of Cathcart Boulevard.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 27-year-old Sarnia woman, as well as the accused, were unhurt.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and will make his first court appearance on August 21, 2012.
