Mooretown Flags and Alvinston Flyers both win twice on weekend
Brooke-Alvinston, St. Clair, Uncategorized, Where we live — By JD Booth on September 26, 2011 at 9:53 amSpencer Bronzi's shorthanded goal midway through the second period broke a 2-2 and the Mooretown Flags went on to score five more unanswered goals in an 8-2 romp in Kingsville in Great Lakes Jr “C” Hockey League action on Sunday.
Jeff Schroeter led the Flags with a hat trick, while Aaron Schieman added a pair. Caden Fleming and Michael Gray had the others.
Meantime, Gray scored twice and Andrew Ganter made 43 saves to lead the Flags to a 5-1 home ice win over Blenheim on Saturday at the Moore Sports Complex.
Mooretown plays at Belle River on Friday night.
In Petrolia on Sunday, the Alvinston Flyers beat Dresden, 4-1 to complete a weekend sweep of the Jr. Kings.
Connor Thompson, Ryan Zavitz, Cody Curts and Jordan Hayes scored for the Flyers, with Dan Warner collecting three assists and Chris Edwards adding two assists.
The Flyers next game is Friday when they host Essex.
