More teachers may be hired at public education board, replacing retirees

Lambton County — By on May 2, 2012 at 8:51 am

The director of education for the public school board in the area says he believes upcoming retirements and the expansion of all-day kindergarten could mean more hiring for the fall.

Some 13 schools are expected to have kindergarten students in their schools all day starting in September.

Jim Costello is quoted as saying a doubling of retirement notices by teachers could counter a decrease in enrollment that may include another 400 students.
