Imagine sleeping on park benches under the stars. Imagine eating toothpaste and crushed ice. Formerly homeless, a daughter of drug addicts, Liz Murray transformed a dead end existence into a tale of success.
Liz Murray will be in Sarnia Tuesday Apr. 17 to speak about her extraordinary inspiring life’s journey and motivate others to learn from her story of challenges and successes.
The United Way, The Inn of the Good Shepherd and The Community Homelessness Initiative Network of Sarnia Lambton welcomes Liz Murray to the Lambton Inn on London Road for a 7:30 a.m. breakfast seminar.
Organizers said seating is limited and tickets are available ($15 each) at The Inn of the Good Shepherd or order by calling 519-344-1746 ext. 301 or email myles@theinnarnia.ca.
Murray will speak again at noon at Temple Baptist Church located at 1410 Quinn St. Currently over 1100 people will be in attendance, including students from high schools and Lambton College and the general public.
Following the noon hour presentation, there will be a panel Question and Answer period to discuss the local issues of homelessness and youth mental health.
“Homelessness is a real concern in our community. Liz Murray’s example of hard work, determination and commitment to achievement is an inspiration to audiences close and far,” said Inn executive director Myles Vanni.
