OPP charge Dresden man with Criminal Harrassment

Lambton OPP report they have charged a 48-year-old Dresden man after it is alleged that he made repeated attempts to gain the attention of a 13-year-old girl.

It is alleged that on Nov. 19, 2010, the 13 year old girl was waiting at the end of her driveway for the morning bus. At that time, a bag containing a note was thrown in the direction of the young girl. The note is alleged to have been an invitation for the teen to communicate with the man on a computer chat site.
It was alleged that this same man had passed by her waiting for the bus on occasions previous to this date and attempted to gain the young girl's attention, said the OPP release.
On the morning of the Nov. 23, officers from the Lambton OPP Crime Unit set up position near the teen’s bus stop. After the young girl boarded, the suspect vehicle was found by police to have pulled up behind the bus and following it. The vehicle was stopped and the accused was arrested without incident.
William John Ellis will appear in Sarnia court on Jan. 11 to answer a charge of Criminal Harassment. OPP will not disclose the location in Lambton County where this occurred as it could compromise the identity of the victim and the school she attends.
