Lambton OPP is investigating a series of vandalism complaints to heavy machinery at the Twin Lakes Landfill Site in Watford.

“In some cases white silica sand was poured into the engines of these machines,” said OPP Cst. Mark Dew of Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers.
He says repairs to the engines of the machines can run into the tens of thousands of dollars.
Dew says investigators are looking into the possibility that the mischief is being done by a person or people against the operation of the landfill site. But, he says there is no evidence and no suspects at this point to lead police to that conclusion.
He says the mischief has been happening for the past seven months.
