A Sarnia woman, 26, is facing charges after allegedly being behind the wheel of a van when it went off the road and into a ditch in the area of Waterworks Road and Confederation Street on Jul. 20.
Sarnia police responded around 8:20 p.m. after they were alerted to the single-vehicle accident. The alleged driver of the van is charged with Impaired Operation and Drive with Over 80 mg.
A 31-year-old Sarnia woman, who was a passenger in the van, was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after falling from the vehicle. Two other passengers were not injured.
Open liquor, police said, was also seized from the scene.
A 30-year-old Kettle Point man was also arrested a short time later after it was discovered he was on a Recognizance of Bail with conditions not to drink alcohol and not to associate with one of the people in the van. He was arrested and held for bail, charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance and one count of Breach of Probation.
