Port Huron boy drowns in Lake Huron

A 7-year-old Port Huron youngster is said to have drowned Monday evening in Lake Huron.

Members of the St. Clair County Dive Team had responded to a call about a missing child that came in just after 7 p.m.

The team was beginning to search the water when a Jet Ski rider was said to have found the boy just south of Lakeside Beach.

The youngster, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at Port Huron Hospital.
