Passed away peacefully at Afton Park Place on Thursday evening February 16th, 2012 in his 98th year (March 27th, 1914). Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife Eileen Katherine (Fulcher) (1994). He is survived by his sons Richard (Mary), Robert (Lynn), William (Terryl) and Mark (Irene) and daughter Rosanne Houlbrook (Terry), his elder sister Anne Atkinson, her daughter Joan and her granddaughter Dori, of Temple Texas, USA. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Carrie Campbell (Ian) Sarnia, On., Julie Edlington (Brad) Dubai,UAE, Denise Lavoratore (Johnny) Windsor, On., Bryan Richards (Kim) Glencoe On., and Jason Richards London, On., Crystal Eltringham (Steve)Windsor On., Jeffery Stapleford (Larissa) Sarnia On., Tonia Bruder (Jason) Guelph On., Christine Kerr (Joel) London, On., Felicia Hampson (Luke) London, On. and great grandchildren Japheth, Benjamin, Selah and Mattea Edlington, Haley, Whitney and Brent Campbell, Daniella and John jr.Lavatore, Lauryn and Ethan Richards, Lorelai, Preston, Ephram and Aubrey Stapleford, Alison Bruder, and Nolan Hamson. 
Frank was born in Manchester, England and immigrated to Canada in 1918 with his family and settled in Eastwod, near Woodstock, Ontario. Prior to WW II he worked at Imperial Oil, Sarnia and then went overseas with the Canadian Army and served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy (Monte Casino) and continued into Europe and was with the liberating force in Haarlem, Holland on D-Day. Upon his return to Canada after the war he resumed his employment with Imperial Oil until his retirement in 1977. Frank enjoyed listening to music and watching educational television shows and was always trying to learn new things. He has been a wonderful father and father-in-law to his family and was always was interested in having conversations with them. His hobbies were diverse. He built his first radio controlled airplanes at the age of seventy five and then went on to build a radio controlled sailboat and enjoyed sailing it at twin lakes. He was a builder, having built three homes for his family and showed interest in sharing his knowledge with others. His career was also in the trades as he was a welder and supervisor for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Vision Nursing Home, Bluewater Health and Afton Park Place for the special care given to our father.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 20, 2012, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
