Roll over crash sends three to hospital

Speed and driver error are indicated as contributing factors in a roll over crash on Highway 402 that sent three occupants to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Had it not been for the use of seatbelts, the outcome of this crash could have been tragic," said Lambton OPP in a statement.

At around 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 9 a 2003 Toyota Corolla was being driven east on Highway 402 east of Forest Road. The vehicle somehow left the roadway and entered the median where it rolled several times.

The three occupants were trapped inside the crumpled vehicle but were not seriously injured.

Members from Warwick Fire Department were able to free them from the vehicle. All three occupants were taken to hospital in Strathroy by ambulance where they were treated.

The driver, Jayeshkumar Doshi, 51, from Schaumburg, Illinois was admitted while his wife and teenage daughter were treated and released.

Doshi is charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
