Sarnia Police arrest woman accused of theft, assault

A 21-year-old woman faces charges of assault and theft under $5,000 after she is accused of stealing various personal items from a 28-year-old female victim and later assaulting the victim in front of witnesses, who intervened.

The confrontations began on Oct. 22 and carried on throughout the night, according to police, who were first called to the area of Exmouth and Capel on Sunday, Oct. 23 just after 2:30 a.m.

The next day, after unsuccessfully trying to locate the suspect, police arrested the woman, who has since been released on a promise to appear.
