A 27-year-old man from Ottawa was found inside a downtown business on his unluckiest day, Friday, July 13, 2012.
Sarnia Police responded to a 911 call just before 11 p.m. about a break and enter in progress at a business on the 100-block of North Christina that was not open at the time.
Police gained entry after getting a key from the owner.
A man could be heard inside speaking out and was found on the second level. He stood, looking at police, covered in dirt and holding a pop can. He apparently became locked inside after allegedly breaking a window and crawling between the ceiling and the roof. Police said he then fell through the roof and onto the floor.
Police also allegedly found a knife on the suspect which he had apparently removed from inside the business. He was arrested, held for bail and faces three charges; Mischief Over $5,000, Break and Enter and Theft Under $5,000.
