The Sarnia Sting scored early and often Thursday night in the final home pre-season game at the RBC Centre.
In front of a crowd of 2609 spectators the Sting would get 24-saves from JP Anderson en route to a shut out and 8 goals from 7 different goal scorers in a 8-0 victory.
Highlighted in the Sting win was Russian forward Nikolay Goldobin who arrived in Sarnia just 5 days earlier who led the Sting offensively with 2 goals and an assist.
Not to be lost in the offensive barrage was a solid outing from JP Anderson and his defence corp in front of him who held the Spirit scoreless including an efficent penatly kill from the Sting which thwarted the Spirit on all 7 of their power play opportunities.
The Sting will close out the pre-season Sunday in Windsor before opening the 2012-2013 regular season next Friday versus the Belleville Bulls.
