Thousands of students in Sarnia-Lambton are back in class today after an unscheduled addendum to their upcoming two-week Christmas break as communities dug out from a fierce winter storm that closed schools, stranded motorists and brought out the best in our community through its generosity to strangers.
Tomorrow is the last scheduled day of classes before schools close again for the holidays. They will reopen in the first week of January 2011.
However, students who attend schools in and around Forest, Wyoming, Watford, Alvinston and Grand Bend are getting another day off today. Buses to those schools are not running today as work crews continue to clear secondary roads so school buses can safely travel on them.
