Search warrant executed on London Road, two charged with ‘numerous criminal code offences

Sarnia Police Vice Unit raided a home in the 400-block of London Road Wednesday resulting in the arrests of two people, a 22-year-old man and a 34-year-old female, who both lived in the residence.
The Vice Unit was assisted by the Sarnia Police Emergency Response Team and the area was closed off between East and Russell Streets as a precautionary measure for the safety of the community.
Police said both suspects were arrested and charged with “numerous criminal code offences.”
Both will face charges of Careless Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Without a Licence, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Methadone and the man faces an additional charge of Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.
A .22 calibre rifle was seized during the raid along with a Canadian Military helmet and webbed vest both of which are being held pending further investigation.
The suspects were taken into custody and are being held until a bail can be determined.
