Squires ground Jets last night in Petrolia
Lambton Shores, Petrolia, Uncategorized, Where we live — By JD Booth on January 22, 2011 at 12:18 pmThe Petrolia Squires opened up a 4-0 lead then had to ice the game with an empty net goal with 24 seconds remaining for a 5-3 win over Lucan-Ilderton on Friday night at the Greenwood Recreation Centre in Petrolia.
Breydan Belan scored twice for the Squires, with singles going to Jeremiah Goodacre, Jason Polera and Craig Laframboise.
The Petrolia victory avenged a 3-1 to loss to the Jets on Wednesday.
The Squires, 19-5 on the season and in second place in the South division, travel to Tillonsuburg tonight and then have a road game in Monkton next Friday night to close out the regular season.
Elsewhere last night, Thedford beat Goderich, 7-2. The Dirty Dogs host Clinton tonight at 7:30 at the Watford Arena and then have a return matchup with Goderich on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Exeter Arena.
