The State of Emergency in Lambton County is now over.
Warden Steve Arnold lifted the declaration this morning at 8:15, two and a half days after it was imposed late Monday evening.
"After consultation with affected municipal partners, emergency responders and municipal staff, we have determined that operations are now returning to normal after this unusual severe winter storm," said Arnold in an e-mail Thursday morning.
He praised the police, the military and the Lambton community at large for their professionalism, cooperation and generosity.
Everyone has now left the various warming centres around the county, he said, to resume their travel.
Meantime, the OPP has reported that Highway 402 is now open in both directions between London and Sarnia. However, motorists are reminded to adjust their driving to the weather and road conditions.
Police say all disabled vehicles have now been removed from the highway.
