Sting’s Latta to play for Germany in 2011 IIHF World Juniors

The German Ice Hockey Association has named Nick Latta to their U20 team that will compete in the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The IIHF World Junior Championship is in Buffalo, N.Y., and takes place Dec. 26, 2010 thru Jan. 5, 2011.The German Junior National team will meet for a pre-championship prep-camp in Rochester, N.Y., on Dec. 18, 2010. 
They will play an exhibition game vs. the Czech Junior National team on Dec. 21, 2010 and on Dec. 24, 2010 the team will then travel to Buffalo for the Championship.
Latta, the Sting’s second round selection in the 2010 CHL Import Draft, has five goals and two assists in 20 games into his rookie season with the Sting.
Latta joins Steven Stamkos (Canada), Trevor Letowski (Canada), Dan Fritsche (USA), Alex Buturlin (Russia), and Mathis Olimb (Norway) as Sting players who have represented their countries at the IIHF World Junior Championships.
