Last Sunday (September 16) The Sunshine “Dreams for Kids” foundation threw a jamboree at the Dow People Place.
It was held from 2 p.m.-7 p.m. and the admission is simply a donation to Sunshine.
Their message was simple, “Come out and enjoy great music and pizza along the waterfront.”
Over 200 people came out to enjoy the entertainment and help a good cause and the event raised “just shy of $1000″
There were 8 different bands/acts that performed:
Copper Still
Free Rein
Paula Loxton and the Corn Huskers
Gary Muxlow
Marty Letourneau
The Accidentals
Jeff Black and the Twang Boys
and finally, Sabrina Rankin
Some of the acts had quite a bit of experience, Jeff Black and the Twang Boys travel all over Ontario to perform and Sabrina Rankin had placed 2nd at the Western Fair earlier on that day. A special “cudos” goes out to Gary Muxlow for donating his PA system to the event and also helping out with other acts.
The Sunshine Foundation is hosting another fundraiser October 27 at M&M Meats from 10am-4pm. They will be serving Octoberfest sausage, pop and snacks, so go out and “help make dreams come true.”
