With signs posted last week at Canatara Beach now removed, the final testing of area beaches has ended. Area beaches tested by the Lambton County Community Health Services department have once again been okayed for swimming.
Last week's message was area beaches had received a clean bill of health from the folks at Lambton County who do the water testing. This message for the week of July 4: a resounding ditto. Happy swimming this week (and hopefully for the rest of the summer).
Area beaches have been given an all clear by the Medical Officer of Health, at least for this week. Sampling done the week of June 4, 2012 included Grand Bend (north and south beaches), Highland Glen, Bright's Grove (including Mike Weir Park), Canatara Park, Pinery Provincial Park, and Ipperwash Main Beach.
