The need for blood is significant, donors needed in Petrolia
Lambton County, Petrolia — By Joe Burd on January 20, 2012 at 2:45 pmThe need for blood is significant and constant.
That’s the message from Canadian Blood Services ahead of a one-day clinic in Petrolia planned for Monday, Jan. 23.
Kristen Ungar of Canadian Blood Services has said, “The need for blood is significant as it takes many units to help save a life.”
As we begin the New Year, Ungar is urging Petrolia area residents to rally together to ensure an optimal blood supply by booking now if possible for the upcoming blood donor clinic next week. Otherwise, walk-ins are also welcome and encouraged.
By donating blood, says Canadian Blood Services, you are giving the perfect gift to patients requiring blood treatment for surgery, trauma, cancer and other procedures.
Please book your appointment or consider simply walking in to the clinic, and pass this information on to others in your community to rally together to save lives.
The donor clinic will take place at New Life Assembly Church, 421 Oozloffsky Street, in Petrolia, from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday. For more information or to book an appointment, please call 1-888-2-DONATE or visit http://www.blood.ca.
